Job Description:
Flight Attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety
and comfort of ExpressJet customers. ExpressJet fly’s a
fleet of regional jets that are configured for 50 passengers,
requiring only one Flight Attendant. Flight Attendants must
learn to interact with people from around the world,
respecting individual customs and cultures while
recognizing different comfort levels people have with flying.
Two important traits you will need to succeed as a flight
attendant are flexibility and a positive attitude. We value
dependability and strong customer service skills to ensure
the comfort of our passengers. You must read and
converse fluently in English. This position will be subject to
pre-employment and random DOT drug testing.
Educational Requirements:
A verifiable high school diploma is the minimum
requirement for the flight attendant position. A flight
attendant or customer service training courses is
preferred. In addition to previous training, all newly hired
flight attendants receive a minimum of four weeks of
formal training by ExpressJet.
Other Requirements for Flight Attendants:
Those who want to work as flight attendants must be at
least 21 years old. Airlines prefer to hire flight attendants
who have experience working with the public. There are
also height requirements as flight attendants must be able
to reach overhead bins but does not exceed 5’9”. All new
hires must complete a background check, fingerprint
check, and drug test prior to attending the training program.
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
· Lift luggage up to 75 lbs
· Lift liquor kit up to 35 lbs
· Lift beverage trays up to 12 lbs
· Lift special needs passenger up to 150 lbs
· Lift ice bags and meal trays up to 3 lbs
· Open and close and aircraft door with a force up to
39 lbs with includes pushing and pulling motion
· Push or pull a beverage or meal cart with a force up
to 29 lbs
· Able to walk with at a slow gait, balance required
· Able to stand with balance in flight
· Able to sit, climb, stoop/bend, reach, twist, and
crouch for long periods of time
Placement for Flight Attendants:
During training, the flight attendants are assigned a base
in which they will work. The bases are Houston, TX,
Newark, NJ, Cleveland, OH and Chicago, IL. Although flight
attendants are not required to live full time in their base
city, they are required to set up some type of living
arrangement that will enable them to be available to fly as
needed at the Flight Attendant’s expense.
Once training is completed, new flight attendants are
placed on reserve status where they could remain for a
minimum of one year. This means they work when called
upon to fill in for absent or vacationing flight attendants or
on extra flights. The Flight Attendants must be able to get
to their assigned base airport within 60 minutes of call out.
After being on reserve status, flight attendants bid for
regular assignments, and generally get their choices
based on airline system seniority.
Compensation for Flight Attendants:
The starting salary is $19.00 per flight hour with a
guarantee of 80 hours per month. This equals $1520.00
per month and $18,240.00 per year gross earnings. In
addition, flight attendants are paid a per diem of $1.80 for
each hour of active duty.
A Day in a Flight Attendant's Life:
On a typical day a flight attendant will:
· Proceed to the airport and park in a remote parking
lot to take an employee bus to the terminal
· Locate their assigned aircraft from their schedule
and wait for their crew to board
· Be briefed by the aircraft captain on emergency
evacuation procedures, coordination of the crew, the
length of the flight, expected weather conditions, and
special information having to do with passengers
· Make sure that first-aid kits and other emergency
equipment are aboard and in working order
· Assess the passenger cabin to make sure there are
adequate supplies of food and beverage
· Greet passengers as they enter the aircraft, check
their tickets, answer any questions pertaining to the flight
and assist them with carry-on bag stowage
· Instruct passengers in the use of emergency
equipment and exit row seating requirements
· Check to see that passengers' seat belts are
fastened, seats are in the upright position, and bags are
properly stowed prior to takeoff
· Assist passengers in the event of an emergency
· Reassure passengers in the event of turbulence
· Direct passengers off of the aircraft in the event they
must evacuate due to an emergency situation
· Distribute beverages and snacks
· Help those needing assistance, e.g. small children,
elderly or disabled passengers
· Administer first aid to ill patients
· Prepare reports on passengers' medical problems,
lost and found articles, and condition of cabin equipment
· Remain overnight in company selected hotels. The
normal schedule for a first year Flight Attendant may
consist of 5 nights away from base at a time for up to 3
times per month.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Qualifications
Basic:

At least 21 years of age
Two years of professional flight attendant experience within the last 7 years
Willing to work all days of the week, including holidays and weekends to meet specific flight schedules per established work guidelines
Preferred:
Associates or Bachelor Degree, or equivalent technical training/experience.
FAA Flight Attendant Certification.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for compliance of all aspects of Allegiant Air and regulatory agency policies within the day-to-day operation of the station while providing direct contact and support for the In-Flight team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain safety compliance of aircraft, customers, facilities and employee working environments
- Address issues and provide corrective action as required
- Ensure compliance with all Federal directives and security requirements
- Audit to ensure quality assurance
- Ensure compliance for controlling of station expenses/cost and maintain an effective cost control program
- Establish airport and local community relations as liaison with airport city officials, FAA, TSA, police and fire departments
- Represent the company at airport meetings, exercises and other functions as required
- Coordinate airline vendor functions and act as liaison for local contracts providing service to Allegiant Air, i.e., fueling skycap, security, catering, cleaning and ground handling
- Evaluate performance and implement appropriate measures to review service provided to Allegiant Air
- Coordinate with Stations, In-flight, Ground Operations and Maintenance to ensure timely departures
- Offer support and communication to all Station and In-Flight Team members. Exercise administrative and supervisory control over all Station personnel and Flight Attendants, coaching and counseling as needed
- Track all attendance issues for all at Station
- Act as the Liaison between Flight Attendants & Management
- Fly Line as required by operational needs
- Promote and educate the Flight Attendants on Ancillary Sales
- Ensure ABANCO Units are charged and uploaded
- Ensure In-flight sales and Station deposits are all made, paperwork completed and reported in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance of all station manuals and monitor for current revisions and availability
- Monitor that all Allegiant Air policies and procedures are adhered to on a daily basis
- Ensure compliance of customer service, baggage handling and departure dependability
- Monitor and verify quality control
- Establish effective and cost efficient work schedules for all station employees
- Assist in recruiting new hires; participate in interview, hiring and staffing requirements
- Coordinate, provide training and ensure training requirements are met for all employees, i.e., new hire, recurrent, supplemental and local training issues
- Provide feedback, research and response to customer complaints/compliments in coordination with Customer Relations
- Establish employee recognition programs for station achievements, i.e., safety, performance and revenue collect programs
- Establish goals and objectives
- Measure the performance of the station ensuring all goals are met
- Work to establish contract revenue and actively pursue opportunities to ensure station profitability
- Evaluate, manage and provide ongoing feedback to employees while developing individuals and encouraging career advancement
- Lead by example, motivate to achieve results by exemplifying integrity, professionalism and excellent communication skills while maintaining the environment of safety, sales, professionalism, and ensuring a high level of job satisfaction
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Perform all functions of a Station Agent

SUPERVISES:
Flight Attendants, Customer Service/Ground Operations/Aircraft Cabin Cleaning/Commissary Security/Aircraft Security Agents (based upon location)

Allegiant Air Employees, Customers, Service Providers, Vendors, Regulatory Agencies and airport personnel
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to effectively communicate all airline business to internal and external departments and customers using well developed planning and organizational skills
- Must be committed to the importance of serving the customer and have excellent customer service focus
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
- Must pass a five (5) year background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Must have authorization to work in the U.S. as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
- Able to attend required training
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent, College preferred
