Job Purpose:
To maximise profit from the in-flight business; maximising
sales and profit from retail, in flight advertising and speedy
boarding. Delivering longer term strategic planning as well
as managing and motivating key stakeholders, direct and
in-direct reports (across operations and commercial)
external partners and suppliers to implement shorter term
business plans.

Pre-Requisites:
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating within a
change oriented, fast paced, performance driven,
challenging and dynamic company. They will be a self
starter who excels in an empowered environment, who is
comfortable working without a vast infrastructure in place.
Ideally coming from a retail background with prior
experience of large P+L management, the candidate will
be an excellent man manager as well as a having a
background in commercial and operational retail.

Responsiblities:
Driving Top line Sales.

•Driving sales through effective category management.
Ensuring category plans are in place for all key categories
including pricing, promotions, merchandising and on-
board POS. Overall management of the commercial
trading plan.

•Ensure easyJet continues to be at the forefront of in-flight
retail with new product innovation (such as in-flight
insurance, Starbucks, Oyster and travel)

•Driving sales through the most compelling and profitable
crew commission structure

•Range change management- ensuring that all range
changes are carried out smoothly with commercial and
operations and making sure any feedback from crew is
followed up.

•Benchmark products and prices with competitors and the
High Street to ensure a compelling customer proposition

•Ensure effective communication of in-flight offering (in-
flight bistro and boutique Magazine, local menu cards,
seatback advertising, new advertising "products").

•Maximise in-flight advertising sales working with third
party sales agencies and relevant category managers to
drive up revenues per aircraft

•Ensure a full long term plan is in place and implemented
to drive sales and profit of Speedy boarding and easyJet
plus. This will include product development, enhanced
repeat purchase through enhanced customer satisfaction,
on-line merchandising, pricing promotions, airport sales
through ground handler incentives, POS.

•Ensure products on board comply with all relevant local
and EU legislation. Ensure VAT exposure of easyJet/in-
flight partner is not negatively affected by new listings

Ensure delivery vs. budget

•Develop annual budget for in-flight sales getting the
necessary buy in from all key stakeholders (Operations, eJ
Switzerland, In-flight partner) and agree with Finance

•Review forecasts monthly and agree/drive relevant
actions with key stakeholders to ensure the business is
on track vs. plan and agree the necessary actions to meet
or exceed plan

•Drive down P+L key costs- residuals, wastage,
discrepancies, dry stores, and charge backs costs.
Minimise Tax/Duty costs through movement to UK duty
suspended ensuring correct TAX rates are used and
where possible reduce VAT through category management

•Reduce longer term fixed costs through process re-
engineering and partner negotiation

•Working with Cabin Services and In-flight Partner to
achieve 100% EPOS utilisation

Effective day-to-day Partner management

•Build and maintain strong and effective working
relationship with appointed in-flight partner

Maximise value from contracts

•Lead RFP and contractual process for potential new
suppliers/contract renewals

•Maintain service levels and ensure compliance vs.
contract taking the necessary corrective action to achieve
agreed levels or agree compensation if appropriate
