Job Description
Atlantic Southeast Flight Attendants are committed to
providing an exceptional level of customer service to our
passengers while upholding our vision by "putting safety
first in everything we do". A Flight Attendant must possess
the confidence and excellent decision making skills
needed to provide leadership and direction to our
passengers.

The job duties include but are not limited to:

•Attend preflight briefings about weather, routes,
emergency procedures, crew coordination, lengths of
flights, food and beverage services offered and passenger
counts.
•Verify all emergency equipment are onboard and in
working order.
•Inspect the cabin making sure it is welcoming and ready
for passengers.
•Check to ensure that food, beverages, blankets, reading
material emergency safety cards and other supplies are
aboard and are in adequate supply.
•Operate audio systems when applicable.
•Greet passengers boarding aircraft and direct them to
their assigned seats.
•Assist passengers while entering or disembarking the
aircraft.
•Assist passengers in placing their carry-on luggage
and/or garments in overheads or under-seat storage.
•Determine which passengers need special assistance
such as unaccompanied minors, families traveling with
small children, the elderly or physically challenged.
•Announce and demonstrate safety and emergency
procedures such as the use of oxygen masks, seat belts
and life vest.
•Walk the aisles to verify passengers' compliance with
federal regulations prior to take-offs and landings.
•Assist passengers when asked about flights, aircraft,
weather, travel routes, services, arrival times and/or
connecting flight information.
•Sell food and alcoholic beverages to passengers and be
responsible for revenue collection, reporting and
depositing.
•Conduct periodical cabin walk throughs to ensure
passenger comfort and accommodate their requests.
•Prepare passengers and aircraft for landing; following
Company procedures.
•Announce flight delays and descent preparations.
•Order supplies to restock the aircraft.
•Prepare reports regarding meal and beverage
inventories, the conditions of cabin equipment and any
reportable incidences encountered by passengers.
•Reassure passengers when situations arise, such as
turbulence or safety related incidences encountered
during flight.
•Administer first aid to passengers in distress.
•Direct and assist passengers in the event of an
emergency, such as guiding passengers to evacuate the
aircraft following an emergency landing.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

•Must be authorized to work in the United States, without
restrictions.
•Must be at least 21 years of age.
•Must have a valid passport prior to the first day of training.
•Flight Attendants are required to have a current and valid
passport with the ability to travel freely in and out of the
USA, Canada, Mexico and other seasonal international
destinations. Your passport, driver license or state ID,
Social Security Card and immigration paperwork, if
applicable, must all be issued in the same first and last
name.
•Must be able to read and speak English fluently.
•Must be able to pass a FAA required drug screening and
background check.
•Must be a High School Graduate or have a GED.
•Must be willing to accept/relocate to base assignments in
all current and future crew bases (currently Atlanta, GA and
Washington-Dulles, VA).
•Must be physically able to perform all duties, including
stretching, reaching overhead, bending, stooping, lifting,
carrying and standing as part of normal daily job duties.
•Must be able to work long hours, including a 14-16 hour
duty day.
•Must be able to work rotating schedule with variable
hours, including holidays and weekends.
•Must be able to lift items weighing as much as 50
pounds. These items include, but are not limited to galley
equipment, passenger luggage, etc.
•Must be able to handle In-flight emergencies which could
necessitate rapid evacuations of the aircraft with an
associated jump form five to six feet to the ground.
•Must be able to tolerate a work environment that is
subject, but not limited to changes including:
1) Varying climactic conditions and locales
2) Variable hours
3) Dry Air
4) Moderate noise levels
5) Dim lighting
6) Confined spaces
7) Frequent and continuous contact with others
8) Exposure to peanuts, pets and other allergens
•Must be able to perform all required job duties, including
but not limited to reading announcements to passengers
and providing appropriate direction.
•Must be able to communicate effectively with passengers,
coworkers and others with whom Atlantic Southeast does
business; including the use of effective listening skills and
appropriate, professional conversational skills.
•Must comply with uniform guidelines and present a
professional image.
•Must be able to sit in and operate all jumpseats for each
aircraft Atlantic Southeast operates (per FAA regulations
and operational requirements).
•Must be able to walk down the aircraft aisle while facing
forward, so as not to interfere with passenger safety and
comfort. Aircraft cabins and aisles are restrictive in terms
of space.

Preferred:

•At least two years customer service experience.
•Previous airline experience.
•College courses or degree.
