The Flight Attendant Supervisor reports directly to the Director, Flight Services, and is in charge of the Flight Attendant and Ticket Counter staff and activities. The Flight Attendant Supervisor works closely with the other members of the Leadership Team to continually evaluate and improve all aspects of SSA flight operations.
The ConocoPhillips Alaska Aviation Flight Attendant Supervisor position is also a "flight attendant" position required to perform both flight and business activities including daily oversight in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities
Manages 21 flight attendants, five ticket counter agents and associated contractor personnel to meet daily operational requirements of Shared Services Aviation in a safe and efficient manner. Performs as a line flight attendant on a reduced schedule.
Manages the scheduling of flight attendant and ticket counter staff in accordance with departmental duty limit guidelines. Is required to be on 24 hour call to ensure appropriate staffing.
Oversees budget preparation, personnel selection, merit salary administration, employee motivation and conflict resolution for the operations group; Development and implementation of flight attendant and ticket counter goals and objectives.
Reviews and evaluates all safety irregularities pertaining to area of responsibility to ensure safe practices per established FAA directives and company procedures.
Participates, on an occasional basis, as an ancillary member of the Aviation Department's Leadership team. Implementing and supporting the policies, procedures, plans, and objectives of the Shared Services Aviation, ConocoPhillips and BP.
Manages the initial and recurrent training of all flight attendant and ticket counter staff to ensure compliance with the FAA regulations, Department and Company policies and procedures. Monitors compliance; performs line checks.
Interfaces with the Aviation Operations Safety and Security Specialist to support the safety management system.
Represent the Department when necessary and conduct special assignments as directed by the Director, Flight Services or the Aviation Manager.
Member of the Shared Services Incident Management Team.
Able to attend seminars and training as a representative of the F/A group.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises flight attendants and ticket counter staff; Supervising Flight Attendant carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include:
Interviewing, hiring, and training of new Flight Attendant and Ticket Counter personnel.
Oversee planning, directing and scheduling of work assignments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Provides leadership, motivation, conflict resolution, coaching, and feedback to meet operational requirements of the Shared Services Companies in a safe efficient manner.
Provides Annual Performance Reviews for staff; Promotes career development and growth.
Provide guidance and support with company policy and procedure change.
Qualifications
Basic/Required
Legally authorized to work in the United States
High school diploma/GED
5 plus years of professional flight attendant experience
3 plus years of proven supervisory/ management skills
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear and must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Must read, write and articulate English to concisely complete all necessary paperwork and essential communications.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
