Thomas Cook UK

Company Name: Thomas Cook Airlines
Position: Cabin Crew - Newcastle
Description: Cabin Crew - Newcastle (2011)-02476

Description
Job Title: Cabin Crew (Fixed Term contract - Summer
2011)

Location: Various

Salary Range: £ Competitive, plus a flying allowance and
sales commission

Overview of Main Responsibilities and Duties (Purpose of
job):

Cabin Crew are the face and personality of our business
and so play a vital part in establishing how we're seen by
the millions of people Thomas Cook Airlines flies around
the world every year.

You'll have a high level of personal presentation, with
excellent communication skills and boundless energy and
enthusiasm. You'll be flexible, attentive to customer needs
and prepared to work hard, and of course you'll have a
great personality.

In return for your hard work and dedication Thomas Cook
Airlines offer a competitive salary, an hourly flying
allowance and sales commission on all goods sold
onboard. Other benefits include discounted travel
opportunities, a stylish uniform and if you drive, we'll pay
for your parking when you're working.

As all of our cabin crew will testify - this is not just a job, it's
a way of life. Forget nine to five - this is worlds apart from
that.

Our flights depart around the clock, seven days a week,
and because you could be flying to Tenerife at 5am on a
Tuesday morning, or to Turkey at 11pm on a Saturday
night, you'll find yourself with spare time during the week.
You will be able to go shopping when the shops aren't
busy, meet your friends for lunch or go to the gym before
the evening rush.

Life is always varied when you work as cabin crew and
you'll find you make friends for life. You'll meet new
customers every day and the skills you will learn in training
will enable you to deal confidently with the variety of
situations you will encounter.

Training

On joining, you'll benefit from one of the best training
programmes in the industry. The initial course, which is
designed to provide you with all of the knowledge and
skills required to enable you to deliver the highest
standards of safety and customer care, lasts between four
and five weeks and will normally be held at your home
base.

The course demands a high level of commitment and you
should keep your evenings free as homework forms an
integral part of your training. With exams in all subjects
throughout the course, be prepared to study hard!

Once you've passed your initial training, your first flight will
be as an 'extra' crew member, assisting the working team
onboard before you become a full member of the cabin
crew team yourself, and your performance will then be
regularly assessed during the course of your employment
with us.

Selection Process

Our selection process consists of the following stages:

•Screening of your application form. If you meet our
essential criteria, your application will be retained on file
and we'll invite you as soon as we can to invite you to an
assessment centre - subject to places being available

•Assessment Centre - a 2.5 hour assessment event,
consisting of a number of short tests and exercises. If you
are successful at this stage, you will be invited to a final
interview

•Final Interview - to be held separately to the assessment
centre, and if successful you will be placed on hold for
when a position arises

Please note, if successful after the final interview - no offer
of employment will be made until our Summer 2011
vacancies have been finalised.
