Main Purpose of the Role:
Ensures that In-Flight Teammates (ITMs) and In-Flight
Team Leaders (ITLs) are competent and qualified with
regard to all safety, regulatory, service and communication
requirements associated with their assigned duties.

Responsible for the direct supervision of ITMs and ITLs
with respect to adherence to all applicable duties
delineated in Virgin America's manuals

Authority to take action, as deemed necessary, to resolve
any problems or situations that may compromise safety or
service associated with Virgin America's staff or guests.

Authority, along with the manager Cabin Safety, Regulatory
Compliance, to ensure that all ITMs/ITLs act in a safe and
guest friendly manner in accordance with Virgin America's
manuals and guest service guidelines.

Responsible for the direct coaching, support and
evaluation of all Inflight Base Supervisors

Manage cost performance against assigned budgets, and
report and explain on variances

Oversee the management and resolution of employee
issues in areas such as discipline, complaints, delays
and leaves

Support and coach the in-flight leadership team to drive
improvements in both the guest and employee experience

Professional Experience Required:
• Minimum of 5 years experience related to the direct
supervision and support of a large guest contact
workforce.
• Must have completed formal training in effective
communication and coaching.
• Must have a strong knowledge of Federal Aviation
Regulations (FARs).
• Must be fluent in English.

Main Area of Responsibilities:
• 5+ years of in-depth experience and a clear
understanding of Airline/Airport Operations.
• Previous presentation and facilitation skills.
• Overall performance of the daily operation, Inflight Base
Supervisors and In-flight Teammates
• Monitors performance, appearance and compliance with
procedures and standards prescribed by the company.
• Investigates daily complaints, delays and performance
discrepancies, taking corrective action when necessary.
• Provides guidance and support to the In Flight Base
Supervisors in addressing their role.
• Ensures understanding of job-related information by
observing In-Flight Base Supervisors while on duty and by
conducting one-on-one discussions.
• Works in-flight as a qualified In Flight Team mate/In Flight
Team leader when necessary.
• Handles special projects of a miscellaneous nature and
assists Director Inflight as appropriate.
• Performs administrative duties and prepares reports on
activities and discussions.
• Develop and implement policy, procedure, and process
improvements
• Mentor other employees; provide guidance and direction

Skills & Abilities Required
• Minimum 5 years managerial experience of a large
workforce
• In Flight or Guest Service experience in a leadership role
• Effective communication skills
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with technological
learning
• Job Requirements (e.g., travel, must be able to lift 50
pounds, etc.)
• Excellent ability to delegate, multi-task and take initiative
• Independent judgment and decision making
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Willing to travel
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to meet
deadlines
• Prior In-Flight or guest service experience
• Must be able to successfully complete in-Flight Training
• Ability to troubleshoot
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Requires rotating of shifts and days off
• Strong knowledge of Airline/Airport operations with
outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interface with
all levels of Virgin America, outside contractors, and
regulatory authorities.
• Self-starter with proven ability to establish and meet
goals and objectives.
• Must be open to change, willing to pursue new
challenges and able to manage multiple priorities in a
dynamic environment.

Professional Certifications and Education Required:
• Bachelors’ Degree in related field is preferred.
• An equal balance of experience and education will also
be considered.
