Description
The In-Flight service Base Manger establishes an environment
within the department that fosters mutual trust, respect and an
appreciation for the contributions of all In-flight team members.
This position is responsible for the performance-based
management of In-flight Base Administrators, Flight Attendant
Supervisors and Flight Attendants. They serve as a role model for
the team. The Base manager mentors base staff as appropriate in
preparation for succession planning.

Role and Responsibilities:
•Actively promote the highest level of safety and safety awareness
in all aspects of the AirTran Airways operation
•Ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
pertaining to in-flight functions
•Ensure all members of the In-flight team are properly trained,
coached and empowered to provide friendly and professional
service
•Establish appropriate internal audit systems that ensure
compliance with all Federal regulations, company rules, and
standard practices in concert with Regulatory Compliance
•Accomplish continuous reviews and evaluations of all In-flight
processes
•Complete all required reports, audits and special assignments in a
professional, timely manner
•Develop strategic and tactical plans that enhance In-flight Base
and management performance
•Responsible for performing root cause analysis related to goal
performance and devising action plans to support goal attainment.
•Complete all required grievance processes to include Arbitration
•Conduct and investigates Flight Attendant
misconduct/performance issues
•Ensure all Departmental goals are met

Qualifications
•College degree preferred
•Minimum of two years experience in the In-flight Department
•At least two years Supervisory/Management and Customer
Service experience
•Excellent attendance record
•Available for shift and partial weekend work schedule
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Demonstrated leadership skills
•Must be able to coach and develop others
•Strong analytical skills
•Able to meet the requirements of FAR 108.33 for Unescorted
Access Privileges
•Knowledge of FAR Part 121 as pertaining to Inflight crew
operations
•Ability to manage multiple detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced
environment
•Strong organizational and leadership skills

•Work Authorization: Eligibility to work in the United States without
sponsorship (current or future)
•Background: Ability to provide 10 years of employment,
education, unemployment history per FAR 108.33

reveals no felony convictions in most recent 10 years
