On My Soapbox!!
For the life of me I will never understand why low level airlines are so damn fussy when it comes to regulations! Not safety regulations, but uniform or what you can and cannot do...seems like some of them are becoming like reform school!
No one on this earth cares if flight attendants wear FMP's in the terminal or while boarding. FMP's can cause foot problems down the road. For safety I agree that non skid shoes with a low heel are better for in-flight! But slapping the hand of a flight attendant for not wearing FMP's for boarding is nuts!! Nothing in this particular airlines manual about shoes, but still the flight attendants get written up!!! So now this airline is saying that if you cannot wear FMP's for any reason (including medical) you cannot work for them! WTF!! Am guessing a lawyer would have a field day with this regulation!! The next thing is one person can have a tat (small) but another cannot!! One person can have their uniform altered but another cannot!
And my favorite is the management jerk who told flight attendants that they were deadheading (they were out of time) so they were not responsible for the doors! He told them that the pilots would take care of the doors!! It gets better, there were passengers on the flight!!! When the flight attendants questioned this procedure the management jerk reported them!!
I am not naming names, no airline, no managers and no flight attendants. This airline needs a union to put an end to this crap!!! I feel bad for the flight attendants who refuse to ass kiss and subsequently get in trouble....
The End!
