Requirements

Director, Inflight Services

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Works under the direction and supervision of the President & General Manager.
* Works with FAA agencies and Principle Operations Inspector on regulatory issues while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
* Develops and is accountable for Inflight Departmental Operational policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient airline operation.
* Maintains a high level of knowledge in the following areas: Company policy and procedures, Pinnacle FAM, Emergency Response Manual, Inflight Training Program, applicable parts of the GOM and FAA Regulations.
* Supervises the maintenance of the Flight Attendant Manual and coordinates the integration of other manuals and memos to comply with regulatory, safety, and operational changes.
* Coordinates with each respective Program Manager to ensure standardization of Inflight procedures.
* Ensures that the highest standards of all Inflight training is presented to include new hire, recurrent, and any other Company or required training conducted in compliance with applicable FAA Regulations.
* Coordinates Inflight Services activities with other Company departments to ensure the highest standards, safety, and efficiency of airline operations.
* Assists in the maintenance of all Inflight training records in compliance with FAA regulations.
* Oversees and assists the People Department in the recruitment and selection of Flight Attendants.
* Ensures that all Flight Attendants comply with Company policies and procedures and FAA regulations.
* Directly supervises all Inflight Base Managers, and participates in the decisions of hiring, promoting and terminating of Inflight Services employees. Promotes and maintains employee morale and diversity.
* Monitors operational performance on a daily basis and advises the President & General Manager on status.
* Develops budget for department.
* Assists in the establishment of crew staffing levels and reviews crew utilization.
* Participates in negotiations and administration of the flight attendant contract.
* Responsible for development of a balanced program of discipline and for conducting investigations and interviews when violations of company policy or federal regulations occur.
* Establish, evaluate, maintain and administer all standards of work performance, appearance, dependability, attendance, conduct and safety for the Inflight Services department.
* Conduct special studies or projects as required by the President & General Manager.
* Participate in programs as established by the Vice President of Safety.
* Follow up of crew communication reports, crew incident reports, and other correspondence.
* Participates in scheduled department staff meetings.
* Represents the Company at industry-related venues.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned from time to time.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some repetitive motion such as typing. Position requires some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags and electronic equipment not in excess of 40 lbs. Can involve long periods of sitting.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Office work and airport operations in all types of weather.

MINIMUM OUALIFICATIONS: Four-year college degree, four years of supervisory experience, and two years of airline operations experience (or equivalent experience). Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communications (both written and oral) and organizational skills. Superior knowledge of company policies, procedures and standards. Intermediate typing skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point software.
