Position: Inflight System Manager (Erlanger, KY)
Description: PURPOSE OF POSITION: To ensure company and
departmental compliance with, interpretation of, and
consistent application of the flight attendant collective
bargaining agreement, corporate, and department policies
and procedures across bases.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of previous leadership experience in
administering discipline (both verbal and written),
conducting thorough investigations, researching issues
and providing recommendations on course of action is
required.
Working knowledge of labor agreements and
labor/employment law preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Represent the Inflight department in dealings with union
officials and labor relations.
Review and investigate high-level and non-routine
grievances and disciplinary actions.
Discuss and review high profile discipline cases.
Ensure consistent approach, communication and
adherence to policies, procedures and values are
practiced and upheld.
Conduct pre-arbitration investigations in an attempt to
resolve contract disputes and represent Comair in
hearings.
Participate in hearings (regarding discipline, scheduling
concerns, etc), contract administration, system board
preparations, arbitration, and committee meetings, etc.)
Communicate decisions resulting from grievances (initial
grievance, VP appeals, system board, arbitration)
and contract administration meetings and ensure teams
adhere to new/changed policies and procedures.
Ensure consistency and standardization between the crew
bases as it relates to the department and corporate
policies and procedures.
Provide a resource to ensure the consistent application
and interpretation of the policies, procedures and
Collective Bargaining Agreement by line management
between bases; provide counsel and feedback to other
managers regarding proposed policy/program changes.
Identify department practices that conflict with company
policies, collective bargaining agreement, department
policies and/or state and federal employment laws.
Advise department of potential issues based on
new/proposed programs, policies and initiatives. Conduct
the risk assessment and recommend appropriate action
based on review.
Partner with Inflight Technical Support and Compliance in
order to develop and implement revised and/or new
policies, procedures related to manuals, safety, security,
commissary, and maintenance.
Partner with leadership as necessary to develop,
implement and communicate revised and/or new policies
or procedures related to findings resulting from internal
and external audits.
Lead base operations in the resolution of high-level and
non-routine flight attendant issues.
Ensure consistent application and administration of
attendance policy and issues resulting in discipline.
Guide base leadership with disciplinary and
correspondence
Maintain currency and keep apprised of trends and
practices affecting business development/resource
planning as well as federal, state and local laws and
regulations in order to ensure competitiveness and
compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ensure procedures are in place to maintain appropriate
documentation and record keeping of investigations,
corrective actions, etc.
