Narrative Description
Reporting to the Director, Global Safety, the incumbent will
represent IATA carrier flight attendants and cabin
operations management in developing regional and
global regulatory standards, cabin operations processes
and procedures. (She will represent IATA carriers on ICAO
committees, regional or IATA committees and task forces
and act as Secretary for the IATA Cabin Operations Task
Force and the IOSA Oversight Committee (IOC) Cabin
Operations sub-committee.

Responsibilities
Play an active role in leading the industry stakeholders to
develop, establish, and promote international standards,
procedures and best practices to ensure safety in all
aspects of cabin operations in commercial aviation;
Analyze worldwide developments and any other relevant
activities in the field of cabin safety and procedures, in
liaison with the industry, regulatory authorities and
international organizations;
Contribute to the reduction of incidents/accidents and
costs associated with the safe operation of commercial
passenger aircraft;
Support the development of programs for IATA
conferences, seminars, workshops and exhibitions;
Develop strategies to reduce injuries or cost, associated
with the operation of commercial aviation safety;
Propose improvements and future needs of strategic
importance to commercial aviation safety;
Ensure close co-ordination is maintained with IATA
Regional Offices, Regional Airline Associations, and any
other appropriate organization relevant to for cabin
operations safety activities;
Provide full administration support to existing and future
task forces with respect to arranging meetings, producing
documentation and preparing reports;
Publish and disseminate achievements and information
on cabin operations safety activities among Industry
Stakeholders;
Content and document management of IATA Web Portals
such as Global Safety Information Center and cabin safety
private site.

Qualifications and Skills
Industry management experience in cabin operations,
training, and safety is highly desirable: 5+ years
experience;
Flight Attendant experience (or cabin operations
management);
Must be familiar with cabin operations manuals,
procedures, flight attendant training, crew resource
management;
Experience with cabin safety investigations;
Regulatory compliance experience (cabin operations) is
highly desirable;
Proficiency in report writing and presentation;
Excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Office software;
Fluency in both written and spoken English; knowledge of
additional languages an asset.
