Summary:
Provide leadership, planning and management of the
inflight training and development function, ensuring the
highest quality educational process for Flight Attendants
and compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations, DOT
regulations and company policies and procedures.

Conduct staff workshops and meetings.
Ensure company and departmental policies and
procedures are consistently adhered to in all classroom

Collaborate with the FAA Cabin Safety Specialist and the
Principal Operating Instructor in the ongoing and changing
training programs, seeking and receiving FAA approvals.
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, within the
department and occasionally across the division. Some
external customer, vendor, manager and/or regulatory
official communications may be required.
Listen, understand and negotiate within the department
and occasionally across the division.
Provide effective direct team leadership across the
function to attain goals and deliver results.
Build and maintain a collaborative and engaged
environment within the function by providing positive,
encouraging and informative input/feedback.
Recruit, hire, train and/or develop staff within the function to
ensure all direct reports are adequately and properly
trained for their duties and responsibilities. Establish
career paths for staff development, set skill depth and
provide on-the-job training as needed.
Prepare measurable function goals and objectives to meet
all position objectives, as well as department and division
goals. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely
basis and in accordance with company policy.
Establish and maintain internal and external relationships
and networks within multiple functions that promote
effective achievement of an even mix of both operational
and strategic objectives.

Business Excellence
Oversee the Train the Trainer program.
Oversee scheduling of all training events, including
recurrent, initial, and re-qualification and train the trainer.
Oversee and develop service training.
Oversee all instructor research, development, written
training modules and manuals and implementation for all
flight attendant training programs conforming to Federal
Aviation Regulations (FAR), including special projects due
to FAR, aircraft type, product, security, directives, service or
policy and procedure changes.
Accurately assess and maintain fiscal year departmental
training budget based on Flight Attendant training events,
staffing needs, and material, equipment and supplies
needs maximizing efficiencies.
Author of regulatory controlled Inflight Training Manual
curricula. Revise, update and change Flight Attendant
Training Programs as required per FARs and 8400.10
guidelines.
Ensure Flight Attendant staffing requirements are met.
Ensure all Flight Attendants meet and maintain
qualifications as crew members.
Develop training manuals and workshops.
Directly link the communication of all standards between
operations, training and line flight attendants. (Also People
Excellence).
Maintain and update the Fight Attendant Training Manual.
Manage and ensure compliance of all Inflight Services
Standards.
Audit and evaluate inflight instruction performance and
compliance to established program requirements.
Responsible for the purchase of emergency equipment,
placement on aircraft, certification, and flight attendant
emergency procedures requirements.
Assess situations using advanced skills or integrate
multiple alternatives to reach timely and appropriate
solutions.
Manage function problems and projects to resolve issues,
aggressively pursuing the function’s business objectives.
Manage function activities to ensure business objectives
are met on time, within budget and with maximum
accuracy and quality.

Strategic Excellence
Acquire and apply new and innovative approaches within
the function.
Effectively translate ideas into actions within the function
and advance them within the department.
Effectively prepare the function for the future while
maintaining current success and momentum.
Effectively lead change within the function, applying a

Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience in inflight operations, and 1 - 3
years experience managing people. (Required)
Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Required)
General business knowledge required; (Required)

Additional Qualifications
Advanced computer skills, to include proficiency with MS
Office products. (Required)
Broad and in-depth inflight operations knowledge and
proven ability to provide technical support regarding cabin
safety administration, surveillance, enforcement and
certification requirements for an air carrier. (Required)
Excellent written and verbal skills, to include presentation
and public speaking skills. (Required)
Previous curriculum design and development experience.
(Required)
Previous teaching and/or instructing experience.
(Required)

Working Conditions:
Office, Training Center, Hangar, Aircraft and Ramp. Some
travel required.

Working Hours:
Shifts vary depending on training schedule.

Training Requirements:
Flight Attendant currency. Instructor currency maintained by
regular attendance at workshops to acquire the latest
training presentation and delivery techniques. Maintain
affiliation with professional training organizations.
